Ticket was a heavy psych band from New Zealand that formed in Auckland in 1970. The group consisted of guitarist Eddie Hansen, bassist Paul Woolright, and drummer Ricky Ball. Hansen had previously played with the Christchurch blues-rock band The Revival, while his older brother, Peter Hansen, was the bassist for the '60s garage rock band Chants R&B. Ball came from the beat group The Challenge, which had a national hit in 1969 with “Honey Do” (NZ #2). Woolright had experience in a soul covers band called The Entry. Just before their first live performances, the four-piece adopted the name Ticket.
