Tim Warfield is an American tenor saxophonist born in 1965 in York, Pennsylvania. He began playing the alto saxophone at the age of nine and transitioned to the tenor saxophone during high school, where he participated in various musical ensembles and received awards for his solo performances. After high school, Tim attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., before becoming a band leader. Throughout his career, he has performed with notable artists such as Marlon Jordan, Donald Byrd, Michelle Rosewoman, Marcus Miller, and Dizzy Gillespie, among others. Tim has been part of CBS/Sony recording artist Marlon Jordan's Quintet and the world-touring group Jazz Futures. He has also appeared on the Today Show and Bill Cosby’s You Bet Your Life as a member of the house band, and performed at Ted Turner's 1998 Trumpet Awards. Tim has released several albums, starting with his debut CD, "Cool Blue," in 1995. He has served as a board member for the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz and has been an artist-in-residence at Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania.
