Tin Pan Alley, originally known as Caramel Mama, was a Japanese quartet active from the mid '70s. The group consisted of Haruomi Hosono (bass), Shigeru Suzuki (guitar), Tatsuo Hayashi (drums), and Masataka Matsutoya (keyboards). They released two albums under their own name, "Caramel Mama" and "Tin Pan Alley 2," and collaborated with notable artists such as Norio Maeda on "Soul Samba/Holiday In Brazil" and Ayumi Ishida on "Our Connection." As Caramel Mama, they provided backing for Yumi Arai and Minako Yoshida on their early albums, among others. In 1979, they released the album "Fairy Tale Pop," credited to Tin Pan Alley, which did not feature Hosono. The group later reformed as Tin Pan and released a self-titled album in 2000, followed by a tour with Akiko Yano in 2014/15, which was documented in the Satogaeru Concert albums.
