Tito Haensel's musical journey began in an unconventional way when, at the age of 6 or 7, he stole a guitar from a stall during the Yaguachi festivities. His father had refused to buy it, but Tito's fascination with music drove him to take it anyway, leading to a chase and ultimately his father paying for the instrument. This event marked the beginning of his love for music. By age 12, he met musician Joaquín Naranjo in his neighborhood, which intensified his passion for music. Tito learned to sing chords and began playing songs with his friends, recalling times when they would create music with makeshift instruments, as electric guitars were rare at the time. He noted that being a musician was often viewed negatively in society, associated with a lifestyle of excess. At 17, Tito started working in music and neglecting his studies, completing high school at the National Institute. He gained recognition when he won first place in an intercollegiate band contest, which led to a suggestion from Josefina de Vallarino to join Los Corvets. Throughout his career, he played with various groups, including Marfil and Canela, and collaborated with national artists like Lucho Silva and Enrique González, as well as international stars such as Leo Dan and Alberto Cortez. Currently, Tito is a member of the Pyramide group and operates his own studio. He considers the guitar an extension of himself and remains committed to making music, always
