Tom Middleton is an accomplished electronic composer, producer, sound designer, DJ, remixer, music director, curator, and compiler, currently serving as the appointed sound architect for Yotel NYC. With expertise as a consultant and tech expert in computer music, hardware and software, DJ equipment, headphones, and in-ear monitors, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the industry. A classically-trained pianist and cellist from Cornwall, Tom's musical journey began when he met Richard D James (The Aphex Twin) in 1989. Through this friendship, he learned the intricacies of sound sampling and synth programming, eventually co-producing a track for the 'Analogue Bubblebath' EP under the name Schizophrenia. Tom played a pivotal role in introducing Richard to Mighty Force Records, facilitating the record deal for the EP. After graduating in Graphic Design in 1991, Tom connected with producer/DJ Mark Pritchard, and together they established the Evolution Records imprint, which later evolved into Universal Language Productions Ltd. The duo recorded under several pseudonyms, including Reload (Techno and IDM), Global Communication (Ambient and House), Secret Ingredients (Deep House), and Jedi Knights (Electro Boogie, P-Funk, Breakbeats, House). Since 2018, Tom has shifted his focus to working as a sleep coach and creator of science-backed music aimed at promoting health, wellness, motivation, focus, relaxation, and sleep.
