Tommy Bolin (August 1, 1951 – December 4, 1976) was an American guitarist and songwriter known for his work with the bands Zephyr (1969-1971), James Gang (1973-1974), and Deep Purple (1975-1976). He also had a significant career as a solo artist and session musician. Much of Bolin's discography remained unreleased at the time of recording or went out of print, with many works being released years after his death from a drug overdose at the age of 25. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, and passed away in Miami, Florida.
