Tommy Burk and the Counts were a prominent local act in Memphis, known for their dynamic performances that captivated the youth of the city. Their career, which spanned from the early 1960s through the garage rock era, featured a blend of vocal pop and garage sounds. The band consisted of Tommy Burk on vocals, Wayne Thompson on guitar, Mike Stoker on bass, Thomas Boggs on drums, along with members John Greer, Steve O’Keefe, and Dan Morelock. They released approximately ten 45s on various labels, including a local hit with their garage-styled rendition of "Stormy Weather."
