Tommy Dee, born in Vicker, VA in 1936, was a disc jockey in San Bernardino who gained recognition for writing and performing "Three Stars," a tribute to the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. Richardson on February 3, 1959. He later transitioned into a career as a country music producer, promoter, and record executive. Tommy Dee passed away in Nashville, TN on January 26, 2007.
