Tommy Hunt was an American soul singer born on June 18, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He passed away on February 12, 2025, in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Hunt was a member of The Flamingos until 1960, after which he embarked on a solo career in New York. Throughout the 1960s, he released a series of singles and became a regular performer at the famous Apollo Theater. In the early 1970s, he moved to the UK and played at the 2nd Anniversary of the Wigan Casino, which led to his connection with English DJ and Wigan Casino manager Mike Walker, marking his rise as a northern soul star.
