Tommy Seebach was a Danish singer, keyboard player, and composer born on September 14, 1949. He achieved chart success early in his career after joining a band, which he left in 1977. He continued his music career as a solo artist throughout the 70s and 80s, but struggled with alcohol addiction, which ultimately affected his career. Following his death on March 31, 2003, his talents as a pop composer were acknowledged by fellow musicians. In 2019, a small square in Frederiksberg, where he lived for many years, was named Tommy Seebachs Plads in his honor. Seebach participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1979, finishing 6th, and again in 1981, where he placed 11th in a duet. He took part in the Danish national Eurovision selections multiple times during the 1980s without securing a win. He returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with the entry "Under stjernerne på himlen," finishing 22nd out of 25 entries, which led to Denmark's relegation from competing in 1994. He was the father of musicians.
