Tomorrows Tulips, formed in 2010 as a refuge from Alex Knost’s band Japanese Motors, is a musical project based between Los Angeles and San Diego. The band’s sound is a blend of pop influences and esoteric interests, often described as “Pavement at the beach” and characterized by a “lackadaisical affair” that embodies the DIY aesthetics of underground music. Their debut album, “Eternally Teenage,” was released by visual artist Thomas Campbell on Galaxia Records. In 2013, they released their sophomore album “Experimental Jelly” on Burger Records, which showcased a more diverse sound due to the addition of Ford Archbold on bass guitar and vocals. This album was recorded by Jamie Dutcher, whom the band met through various shows and tours. Their third LP, "WHEN," highlights the band’s evolution with a mix of pop sensibilities, post-punk, and noise rock, featuring current PIXIES bass player Paz Lenchantin on distorted violin and feedback on several tracks.
