Tony and the Bandits was formed by Tony Brazis, a Cleveland native who moved to Cincinnati's Bond Hill neighborhood. The original lineup included Bill Bartlett on guitar, Bob "Dude" Dudak on bass, and Bill Albaugh on drums. The band recorded several of Tony's original songs at King Records and released a couple on the local Flo-Roe label. Their track "It's a Bit Of Alright" became a local hit and was later released nationally by Coral Records. The band gained further recognition by performing on the nationally televised Shindig show after winning a band contest at LeSourdsville Lake.
