Herman Jones, professionally known as Tony Lamar, is an American singer-songwriter, arranger, and producer. Born and raised in Tyler, Texas, Tony's passion for music emerged early in his life, encouraged by his music teacher to participate in singing competitions. At nineteen, he moved to Southern California, where he was introduced to a singing group that appreciated his voice and invited him to fill in for one of their members. Tony began his music career singing backup for various vocal groups in the Los Angeles area. As his love for music deepened, he established himself as an R&B artist and formed his first doo-wop vocal group. Eventually, he adopted the stage name Tony Lamar and went on to create another group.
