Tony Middleton was an American singer born on June 26, 1934, in Richmond, Virginia, USA. He passed away on February 7, 2024, due to chronic kidney disease. Middleton grew up in Richmond and later moved to New York City with his mother in the mid-1950s. He excelled in sports and participated in amateur boxing into his early twenties. In 1952, Middleton joined a musical group (known by a different name before 1954) and became their lead singer, recording and performing with them until late 1957 when he embarked on a solo career. Throughout his career, he recorded over 30 solo singles and produced numerous demos and commercials. His voice was featured in a movie score during his time in Paris, and he has been associated with some of the biggest names in the music industry.
