Tony Monserrat, born Roosevelt Franklin Stuart Paredes on February 6, 1938, in Maracaibo, Zulia state, Venezuela, was a talented pianist. His father was from Trinidad and Tobago, while his mother was born in Maracaibo. Monserrat began his piano studies under the guidance of teachers José Luis Paz, Atilio Ferraro, and Lina Parenti. A lover of Latin rhythms and jazz, he developed his career performing with dance orchestras like Dimensión Latina and through his own musical projects. He also worked with the Compañía Nacional de Teatro and participated in ballet performances at the Teatro Teresa Carreño. Monserrat gained recognition in Venezuela, achieving top positions on the music charts with his versions of hits such as "Pantera Rosa," "Popeye," and "El Exorcista." He was involved in the popular "Show de Renny" and served as a teacher at the Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes (Unearte), Escuela Ballet-Arte, and Fundación Gustavo Franklin. Tony Monserrat passed away in Caracas on May 12, 2019.
