Torn Memory is a band formed in 1986 by former members of The Republic of Sherpa and Tao Mao: Craig Kester, David Lex Hollenbeck, and Jay Keister. They released their first cassette, 'Euthanasia,' in late 1986, followed by 'The Immigration In Time' in late 1987. In 1988, Kester and Hollenbeck relocated to San Francisco, where they continued to record and perform until 1998. During this period, they released 'The Immigration In Time - Art of Ears sessions' cassette in 1990, the 'Organic' CD in 1994, and the 'Elements' CD in 1996. The core members of Torn Memory include Craig Kester on vocals and rhythm guitars, David Lex Hollenbeck on lead and rhythm guitars, and Chris Dupre on bass. Other members have included Mark Petti on drums for 'Organic,' Sophia Campbell providing vocals on 'Elements,' Greg Helton on drums for 'Elements,' Mike McKevitt on drums at Hotel Utah, and Jay Keister on bass for 'Euthanasia.'
