Salvatore "Toto" Cutugno (7 July 1943 – 22 August 2023) was an Italian pop singer-songwriter and musician, born in Fosdinovo, Tuscany. He gained fame for his worldwide hits "Solo Noi" (1980) and "L'Italiano" (1983). Cutugno won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1990 with his song "Insieme: 1992," held in Zagreb, SFR Yugoslavia. He began his musical career as a drummer and co-founded a band in 1974 before transitioning to songwriting.
