Toyin Agbetu, born on April 13, 1967, in London, UK, is a prominent figure in the music industry as the owner of four independent dance labels. Since 1985, he has produced several soul and dance classics. Initially signed as a member of the group KEW-T, he transitioned to a producer and writer role for a successful independent dance label, where he created the first "street soul" classics. After leaving ELITE to form his own label, UNYQUE ARTISTS, Agbetu's profile grew significantly. As a member and producer of the group DELUXE, he released the iconic streetsoul record that topped the charts for nearly 50 weeks. His subsequent hits paved the way for DELUXE's debut LP, establishing him as the "king of Streetsoul." Agbetu has produced tracks for various artists, including RICK CLARKE and SOUL CONNECTION. He ventured into soul-flavored HipHop, releasing "Together, Forever" and later the hit "90% Funk." His collaboration with producer Dave Lee introduced him to garage and house music, leading to the formation of the INTRIGUE label, where he released the legendary house cut "After the Storm."
