Tracy Weber (July 14, 1959 – May 1981) was a talented singer from Jamaica, Queens, New York. She collaborated with a writing partner to create her first song, "One Step At A Time," in just one day after a record executive expressed strong interest in a demo. Unfortunately, the record company later claimed they lacked the finances to release it, resulting in the release deal going to another artist. Tracy was known for her remarkable ability to sing any song after hearing it just once, requiring only one or two studio takes. Tragically, she was shot to death just two weeks before her first record was set to be released. In addition to "One Step At A Time," she recorded a demo titled "You Ought To Know" with Braddy and Bassoff, which was later released featuring another vocalist.
