Trasch was formed in Wellington during the late 1980s and is recognized as one of the first New Zealand bands to produce a powerful industrial/EBM sound reminiscent of Front 242 and Front Line Assembly. The band consisted of Evan Roberts, Myke Young, and frontman Arthur Tauhore. They released two albums before the tragic death of Tauhore in November 1993, which led to the group's dissolution. Evan Roberts developed his production skills while working on the children's radio show Ears, hosted by Dick Weir. After Trasch, Roberts continued his career as a producer, collaborating with various artists.
