Antoninho Travadinha was a self-taught violinist and musician from Cape Verde, born in 1937 in Santo Antão. He began playing in popular dances at the young age of 9. In addition to the violin, Travadinha was skilled in playing the viola (12-string guitar), cavaquinho, and guitar. He interpreted traditional musical genres from Cape Verde, including mornas and coladeiras. Travadinha passed away in 1987 in São Vicente, Cape Verde.
