Trey Gunn is a native Texan who began his musical journey at the age of seven with classical piano. He currently resides near Santa Fe, New Mexico, having previously lived in Seattle, Washington. Trey operates a record label and has developed his musical interests through various instruments, including electric bass, electric and acoustic guitar, keyboards, and ultimately the touch guitar. He promotes himself as a "Touch Guitar Freak, Alumnus, Multi-Media Storyteller, Music Coach" on his web sites. Throughout his career, Trey has toured and recorded with numerous artists and bands, and notably joined a collaborative project in 1992 that evolved into a fully-fledged rock band, touring Japan and Europe. The band released an album and a live recording during this time. In addition, Trey recorded his first solo album, released on Discipline Records, which later became known as DGM. Trey was a member of King Crimson from the 'Double Trio' formation in 1994 until the conclusion of the 'Double Duo' tour on November 19, 2003. His contributions during the late 1990s helped evolve the Warr Guitar, a unique 10-string touch guitar that has the range of a piano, designed by Mark Warr of Warr Guitars.
