The True Tones were a R&B soul group from Washington, D.C., active during the 1950s and 1960s. The group consisted of Ronald Henderson as the lead vocalist, with James Green as the first tenor, Marshall Hawkins as the second tenor, Earl Briscoe as the baritone, and Leonard Campbell as the bass. They should not be confused with the DC gospel group.
