Turley Richards is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist, born on June 12, 1941, in Charleston, West Virginia. He is the president and owner of Amari Music, Inc. At the age of four, Richards was blinded in his left eye due to an archery accident and later lost sight in his right eye. He began his musical journey as a teenager in the 1950s with a group called The Five Pearls, and his first recorded single, "All About Ann," was released on Fraternity Records. In the early 1960s, Richards moved to Los Angeles with a band, but after their failure, he returned to West Virginia. Later in the decade, he relocated to New York City, where he played in local bars, including Malachy's II on the East Side. He found success in New York and released his debut album with Warner Bros. Records in 1970. Throughout the early 1970s, he scored two minor hit singles in the US, followed by a third hit in 1980. Richards is known for making the first recording of "You Might Need Somebody," written by Tom Snow and Nan O'Byrne, which later became UK hits for Randy Crawford in 1981 and Shola Ama in 1997. On September 1, 2011, he expressed his flattery at being inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame for his song "Making Love With My Baby,"
