Twinkle Stars was a soul-pop group from Suriname, formed in the second half of the 1960s. The group consisted of eight members plus a soloist singer and gained significant popularity in the Netherlands. Key members included bandleader Alfred Ommen, rhythm guitarist and singer Edmond Oosthuizen, and drummer Ricardo Wouden. In the 1970s, Ruud Seedorf also contributed vocals. Their music blended Funk, Rhythm & Blues, and Kaseko, a genre that fuses African, European, and American styles, influenced by Dixieland, Calypso, and Rock & Roll. The instrumentation typically featured drums, saxophone, trumpet, and occasionally trombone. Twinkle Stars disbanded in 1973 in Amsterdam.
