Tyrone Washington is an American jazz tenor saxophonist born in 1944. He grew up in the same household as Woody Shaw and left the Howard University School of Music to join Horace Silver's bands during the early 1960s. Washington later moved into New York City's State of New York Conservatory of Music Building on West Street. However, sometime after the mid-1970s, he drifted away from music to pursue his religion, ultimately abandoning music to preach the gospel. He changed his name to Bialar Mohammed and was living in Newark, New Jersey as of 2010.
