Tyrone "Fly Ty" Williams (1957–December 8, 2025) was a pioneering figure in hip-hop and the founder of Cold Chillin' Records, a highly influential rap label during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He significantly contributed to hip-hop's early commercial success as the co-producer of Rap Attack on WBLS, one of the first dedicated rap radio shows. Under his leadership, Cold Chillin' Records became home to legendary artists. A graduate of Howard University, Williams remained active in the industry, celebrating Cold Chillin’s legacy and mentoring new talent until his passing on December 8, 2025. No cause of death has been publicly reported.
