Ulrich Schnauss is a German composer, producer, remixer, and musician, born on September 8, 1977, in Kiel, Germany. Known for its sailing and handball team, Kiel is where Schnauss began his musical journey. Now based in London, he specializes in downtempo, ambient, and shoegazing electronic music, drawing inspiration from artists like Chapterhouse, My Bloody Valentine, and LFO. After releasing several unsigned works under various aliases, Schnauss gained recognition with his debut mini-album, "Far Away Trains Passing By," released by the CCO label. The album was a critical success, attracting a growing audience in Europe, the Far East, and America. His subsequent album, "A Strangely Isolated Place," received even greater acclaim, bolstered by strong word-of-mouth and a dedicated fanbase. In addition to his solo work, Schnauss has collaborated and remixed tracks for artists such as Longview, Mojave 3, I'm Not A Gun, Justin Robertson, and The Zephyrs. From 2014 to 2020, he was a member of a collective and debuted with the mini-album "Mala Kunia" in November 2014, marking the beginning of "The Quantum Years."
