UNKLE is a British band founded in 1992 by James Lavelle and Tim Goldsworthy. Initially stylized as U.N.K.L.E., the band has undergone various lineup changes over the years. James Lavelle has been a constant presence, handling production and instruments since the band's inception. Former members include Tim Goldsworthy, who contributed to production from 1992 to 1996, and several others such as Toshio Nakanishi, K.U.D.O. (Masayuki Kudo), DJ Shadow, Rich File, Pablo Clements, Jack Leonard, and Matthew Puffett, each contributing in various roles primarily in production and performance. The current touring lineup features Alex Thomas on drums, Liela Moss on vocals and keyboards, and Steve Weston handling engineering, keyboards, guitar, bass, and visuals. Throughout its history, UNKLE has also collaborated with various touring members and session musicians, including notable names like The Scratch Perverts and Bob Knight, among others. The band continues to evolve while maintaining its roots in production and live performance.
