Ursula 1000 is the creative project of New York producer and multi-instrumentalist Alex Gimeno. Drawing inspiration from 60s soundtracks, the 90s lounge revival, Japanese shibuya-kei, British big beat, funk, and disco, Gimeno has crafted a unique "retro/future" sound. He has toured extensively, performing in over 30 countries, and has collaborated with notable artists such as Fred Schneider of The B52s, Lady Bunny, and Puddles Pity Party. His music has been featured in popular television shows like Sex And The City and Grey’s Anatomy, as well as in advertisements for brands like Verizon, Adidas, and Grand Marnier. His eighth album, Esoterique, celebrates his 20th anniversary since his debut.
