This instrument is believed to have originated from the once-common Japanese plastic toy, the taishōgoto, in Balochistan. Noor began his musical journey at the age of 12 and has developed a diverse repertoire influenced by the music of the Arab Peninsula, Iran, Pakistan, and India. Over the years, he has performed at numerous weddings and events and has spent thirty years as the accompanist for the popular Balochi singer, Sabzal Sami.
