Úzgin Űver is a band formed in 1991 in Kecskemét, Hungary. The name refers to a Mongolian settlement known for an ancient sacred burial ground, translating to 'dry desert area' or 'poor harvest'. Their music is predominantly instrumental, with the human voice utilized as an instrument. Úzgin Űver aims to create a unique fusion of folk music from various cultures, incorporating both traditional and modern instruments, sounds, and melodies. Their style is characterized by strong Asian influence, improvisation, instrumentality, rock effects, and ambient elements. The band employs a diverse range of instruments, including saxophone, clarinet, various flutes, zurna, kaval, duduk, Jewish harp, pipe, violin, drums, electric guitar, sampler, and HD-recorder.
