Vance and Suzzanne is a collaboration between Richard Vance Turner and Sussanne Slaughter, members of the group Unyque. Sussanne, whose real name is Susan Watson Turner, has an extensive background as a singer, having performed with various bands in New York, including Sister Sledge. She began her professional career at the Karamu Theatre in Cleveland, Ohio, and has since directed, performed, produced, and written over a hundred plays for off-Broadway and regional theater. In 1984, she married Richard Vance Turner, and together they had three children. Richard passed away peacefully at their home in Middletown, NY, on May 14, 2015. Currently, Ms. Watson Turner is a professor of theatre and multimedia performance at Lehman College of the City University of New York.
