Vangelis, born on March 29, 1943, in Agria near Volos, Greece, was a renowned Greek composer and arranger known for his work in electronic, progressive, ambient, and classical orchestral music. He began writing music at the age of four and performed his first live concert at six. Additionally, Vangelis started painting at the age of seven, with his first exhibition of 70 paintings held in 2003 in Valencia, Spain, which later toured South America until the end of 2004. In the 1960s, he was a founding member of a music group and gained success in the early 1980s as part of another ensemble. Vangelis is particularly famous for composing soundtracks for films such as "Blade Runner," "Chariots of Fire," and "1492: Conquest of Paradise." Over his career, he produced more than 60 albums, many of which were collaborations. He passed away on May 17, 2022, in Paris, France, at the age of 79 due to SARScov2.
