Veronica Vasicka is a New York City native with a Uruguayan mother and Czech father. From an early age, she developed a passion for music and photography, leading her to study photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2005, she co-founded the label Minimal Wave, inspired by the eclectic music she gathered for her weekly two-hour radio show. The label specializes in obscure electronic music, focusing on old New Wave, Italo, and House genres, and aims to bring rare recordings to the public. She also established the sublabel Cititrax, which features newer bands and classic house reissues. Vasicka hosted a weekly radio show on East Village Radio from 2003 to 2014 and currently hosts a monthly show on NTS. Additionally, she DJs bimonthly in various clubs around New York City and internationally, while also recording her own music under various pseudonyms and collaborations.
