Vibravoid is Germany's longest-running active Neo-Psychedelic band, formed in Düsseldorf in 1990, although its roots trace back to the Lightshow Society Düsseldorf in 1988. Throughout the 1990s, Vibravoid emerged as a defiant underground force, preserving and reinventing the aesthetics of the 1960s during a decade dominated by Techno and Grunge. They are credited as the inventors of Neo-Krautrock, blending traditional Kosmische Musik with Acid Rock, Garage, and newer elements like Punk and Indie Rave. The band is known for its pioneering achievements in vinyl innovation, being dedicated to the format long before the mainstream vinyl boom of the 2010s. Their discography features numerous world-firsts in packaging, including multi-colored splatter vinyl, glow-in-the-dark effects, op-art op-discs, and elaborate pop-up covers. In 2001, they organized the first Psych Fest of the new millennium, which laid the groundwork for the global explosion of psychedelic festivals that followed. They also organized an official 30th-anniversary celebration for London’s legendary UFO Club in 1996, bridging the gap between the original 1960s scene and the modern underground. Led by mastermind Christian "Doktor" Koch, Vibravoid continues to push the boundaries of "Maximum Void Vibration," maintaining a presence in the international psychedelic charts and standing as a cornerstone for collectors of experimental and psychedelic rock.
