Vic Godard, born on 26 August, is a versatile musician known for his diverse styles. He began his career with a singer/songwriter sound before immersing himself in the London punk scene of the mid-70s with his band, Subway Sect, comprised of a group of south-west London soul musicians. Over time, he shifted towards a classic pop and jazz style, incorporating elements reminiscent of the 30s and 40s. With a large and varied discography, Vic continues to perform, as of October 2015. He is often referred to as one of the "best kept secrets" in the music world.
