Victorian Parents was formed in December 1979 and had an active lifespan until January 1983. Originating from Lichfield, the band initially toured Germany for two months during the summer. In January 1981, they released their first single, "Dead Red Grass Of Home"/"Another Waste Of Time," which caught the attention of Frank Neilson from Polydor, leading to a five-year album contract. Their debut album, "Silence Follows," along with the second single "All American Hero," achieved reasonable sales in Europe and the United States. The band made a television appearance on "The Old Grey Whistle Test," although it did not yield significant results. They also performed in Holland, including a notable show at the Amsterdam 'Paradiso,' a venue with historical significance. By 1983, after evaluating their situation with Polydor and the lack of progress in 1982, the band decided to cease activities, leaving behind a half-recorded album, with one track, "Second Thoughts," remaining unreleased.
