Village People is a high camp disco troupe formed by a producer in Greenwich Village, New York, which inspired their name. The original lineup featured lead singer Victor Willis as the cop/patrolman, along with David "Scar" Hodo as the construction worker, Felipe Rose as the Indian, Randy Jones as the cowboy, Glenn Hughes as the leather man, and Alex Briley as the GI. In 1979, Willis was replaced by Ray Simpson, and Jones was succeeded by Jeff Olson, with Mark Lee joining the group in the 1980s.
