Vincent Ahehehinnou is a principal vocalist of Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou, a position he has held since 1968. In early 1978, he was forced out of the band by the manager, Adissa Seidou, as he explains in an interview included with Analog Africa's reissue. Following his departure, Vincent explored various business ventures but soon realized that his passion for music was too strong to ignore. During a business trip to Nigeria, he met with a band from Benin, who agreed to arrange his songs, assemble musicians, and book a session at a legendary venue.
