Vito & The Salutations is a doo-wop group formed in 1961 in Brooklyn, NY. The original lineup consisted of Vito Balsamo, Bobby Mitchell, Barry Solomo, and Bob Depallo. In 1962, Depallo and Solomo left the group, which continued to experience various personnel changes over the years. The longest-lasting lineup included Vito Balsamo (lead and baritone), Randy Silverman (lead and 1st tenor), Shelly Buchansky (1st and 2nd tenor), Lenny Citrin (bass and baritone), and Frankie Fox (bass and baritone). Although the group disbanded in the mid-1960s, they made a comeback in 1971 to perform on the oldies revival circuit.
