Vladmir Cosma is a Romanian composer, conductor, and violinist born on April 13, 1940, in Bucharest, Romania. He comes from a family of musicians, with his father being a conductor and his uncle a composer and conductor. Cosma studied music in Bucharest before emigrating to Paris, France, in September 1962 with his family. In Paris, he continued his musical education under notable guidance and began his career as an assistant. He is known for composing music for many well-known French movies. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades, including two Césars for Best Movie Score for "Diva" (1982) and "Le Bal" (1984), two 7 d'Or awards for Best Music for Television, and various other prizes and awards in France and internationally.
