**Eastern Syndrome - Biography** Eastern Syndrome was an experimental neo-psychedelic and cross-genre band formed in Magadan, far-eastern Russia, in 1987. The group, consisting of Konstantin Bityukov (guitar, vocals), Andrew Neustroev (percussion, vocals), Alexander Ponomarev (guitar), Eugene Valov (bass), Vladimir Bovykin (clarinet, saxophone), and Yuri Hatenko (beat-boxing), showcased a unique interpretation of post-punk and Russian psychedelia. Their music combined elements of guitar "new wave," psychedelia, and progressive rock, drawing influences from bands like Talking Heads and King Crimson. The band debuted in March 1987 at the first festival of the Magadan rock club. By the end of that year, Neustroev, Hatenko, and Valov left, and drummer Oleg Volkov joined. In 1988, they recorded their first album, "With the Keys on the Nose." The following year, Hatenko switched to bass guitar, and Alexander Simdyanov took over drumming duties. After touring cities like Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur, they released "Club of the Local Industry." In the summer of 1989, Eastern Syndrome moved to St. Petersburg, performing at festivals such as "Rock Aurora-89" and "Cheeserock-2" in Moscow. They continued to tour
