Voz de Cabo Verde is a Cape Verdean band that was founded in Rotterdam, Netherlands, in 1966. Their repertoire included a mix of Cape Verdean music, such as coladera and morna, alongside American and European pop and rock, as well as Colombian cumbia, Dominican merengue, and Cuban guaracha. The original lineup consisted of members playing saxophone and clarinet, trumpet, vocals, bass, drums, bass guitar, and guitar. In 1968, they were joined by a singer and an organist. The original group disbanded in 1970 after completing a second tour in Angola, with some members immigrating to the United States and France. Although the group continued under the name Voz De Cabo Verde in Portugal, it featured different members and recorded several albums throughout the 1970s, resulting in a completely different sound.
