Vytas Brenner (19 September 1946 – 18 March 2004) was a Venezuelan guitar and keyboard player, born in Tübingen, Germany. His family migrated to Venezuela in 1949, and his mother, Margarita Brenner, was an opera singer. In 1959, the family moved to Italy and then to Spain, where Vytas founded a folk band called the Vytas Brenner Quartet with his brother and other musicians. They later changed their name and moved back to Venezuela, where Vytas began a solo career. At the age of 21, Vytas studied at the University of Tennessee's Music Conservatory under David Van Vactor and later took post-graduate courses in electronic music in Nashville. In 1971, he formed a duo named Vitas & Mafe with Venezuelan singer María Fernanda Márquez. In 1972, he established his band La Ofrenda, which released five successful LPs until 1979. Vytas was known for his pioneering work combining electric and electronic instruments with acoustic ones, blending progressive-symphonic rock, Latin rhythms, and Venezuelan traditional themes. In 1982, a reunited Ofrenda performed at the Teatro de Bellas Artes de Maracaibo but received a lukewarm reception. In 1989, the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra performed his work "Oro Negro" at the Teatro Teresa Carreño in Caracas. He released the CD
