Waajeed is a producer and DJ based in Detroit, known for his contributions as an original member of Slum Village and for executive producing Dwele's debut album, Rize. He began his production career in 2000 and later established his own record label, The Bling 47 Group, which has released works by Jay Dee and an album of instrumentals by Waajeed himself. The label has also signed artists such as Tiombe Lockhart and Invincible. In addition to his solo work, Waajeed has formed several groups, including Platinum Pied Pipers and Waajeed & The Jazz Kats.
