Wadih Essafi was a renowned Lebanese singer and songwriter, born on November 1, 1921, in Niha, Lebanon. He received training in the classical music tradition and aimed to blend this with traditional and folk music, leading to a modernized interpretation of Lebanese folk music. Essafi is regarded as one of the most significant Middle Eastern musicians of the modern era and was affectionately known as "The Voice of Lebanon." He passed away on October 11, 2013.
