Waltel Branco (born November 22, 1929, in Paranaguá, Brazil - died November 28, 2018, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) was a Brazilian conductor, composer, and arranger. Growing up in a musically inclined family, he began his musical journey early, playing the drums, guitar, and ukulele, and later took up the cello, harp, and organ. His childhood and adolescence were marked by a strong focus on music and religion, as he alternated between the cities of Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro. His musical education was further developed during his time in the seminary under the guidance of Chilean musician Joquin Zamacois, along with influential teachers such as Benedict Mossurunga, Padre José Penalva, Jorge Koshag, Stanley Wilson, and Alceo Bocchino.
