Wanda Jackson, born on October 20, 1937, is a pioneering American singer recognized as one of the first female rock and roll artists. She released her debut record in 1954, which was a country recording, and is often referred to as the "Queen of Rockabilly." Throughout her career, she achieved 34 chart entries in the U.S. and U.K. as a solo artist from 1956 to 1974, including a duet with Billy Gray on "You Can't Have My Love" in 1954. Among her notable hits are two top ten country songs, "In the Middle of a Heartache" (#6) and "Right or Wrong" (#9), both released in 1961. In recognition of her influence on the genre, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009 as an Early Influence.
