Wapassou is a unique symphonic and progressive rock band from Strasbourg, France, formed in the early 1970s. Their debut LP, which is self-titled, features a more psychedelic sound reminiscent of Catharsis. Following this, the band created a trilogy of albums characterized by long, complex suites that incorporate guitar, violin, keyboards, and female vocals, resulting in a mystical and classical hybrid style that is particularly notable for its lack of percussion. As they progressed into the 1980s, Wapassou's music evolved to blend pop and modern neo-prog styles.
